Bible CurriculumAt North Walterboro Christian Academy, we utilize a blended curriculum that includes Abeka, BJU Press, and Positive Action for Christ to provide students with a strong biblical foundation while promoting academic excellence.
Bible instruction is a vital part of our educational program. Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade use the Abeka Bible curriculum, which presents Scripture in the narrative style in which it was written. Through engaging lessons, students study the people, events, doctrines, and truths of both the Old and New Testaments while learning practical, age-appropriate applications for daily Christian living.
High school students study The Life of Christ using the Positive Action for Christ Bible curriculum. This course encourages students to develop a deeper understanding of Jesus' life, ministry, teachings, and their personal relationship with Him.
Because of Abeka's commitment to Christian education, its curriculum is designed to equip students with a biblical worldview while providing a solid academic foundation. Lessons encourage students to think critically, exercise discernment, and apply biblical principles to everyday life through inductive teaching methods, hands-on learning, and thoughtful discussion.
Bible instruction extends far beyond the Bible classroom. At NWCA, biblical truth is intentionally integrated into every academic subject. We strive to teach all disciplines through the lens of Scripture, helping students understand God's design in Creation, the effects of the Fall, and the hope of Redemption through Jesus Christ.
At the high school level, BJU Press is incorporated into select courses, including Biology. BJU Press provides a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum that develops critical thinking skills while highlighting the order, complexity, and majesty of God's creation. Students are challenged to explore scientific concepts from a distinctly biblical worldview, recognizing the wisdom and power of God throughout His creation.
