NWCA is a ministry of North Walterboro Baptist Church. The staff co-labors with parents in educating young people to love God, learning, and life in a Christian environment.
SCHOOL HISTORY
North Walterboro Christian Academy was started on May 5, 2002, Sunday morning at NWBC. A Christian school had been on the minds of many members dating back to the Mission days. When a church member was unable to enroll her children at a local Christian school, she approached former Pastor Pettit with the concern that students were being sent away because there was not enough room. Soon a school committee was formed, leading to a trip to Pensacola Christian College for the summer Seminar. Books were purchased, paperwork was accomplished, rooms set up, and school started on August 19, 2002, with a total of 12 students. Fourteen years later, September 17, 2016, 140 students were enrolled to NWCA. The growth of our school led to getting accredited by the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools (SCACS) on September 1, 2017. NWCA is a ministry of the NWBC with the goal of reaching children and families of our community for the family of God. We adhere to the great commission in Matthew 28: 19-20, "Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." God has blessed NWCA and NWBC with continual spiritual and numerical growth. Because we believe Proverbs 22: 6 "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.", we have chosen the school motto to be "Teaching Children to make a Difference."
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men, divinely inspired by God and has salvation as its end. The Bible is our only authentic and authoritative guide for belief and practice. It reveals the principles by which God will judge all mankind and it remains the true center of all Christian union. It is the standard by which conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be measured.
