NWCA General Dress Code Standards
Shirts
- Shirts must be solid red, white, or navy blue unless otherwise approved by the administration. Small manufacturer logos or embroidered insignias may not exceed the size of a half-dollar coin. All shirts must have collars unless they are approved school T-shirts.
- Colors: Red, White, and Navy Blue
- All shirts must be tucked in completely.
Shoes
- Appropriate footwear must be always worn. Shoes must have a heel or back strap. Flip-flops and clog-style shoes are not permitted.
Headwear
- Hats, caps, beanies, skullcaps or other headwear may not be worn during the school day or at school ceremonies unless approved by the administration.
- School-issued hoodies are not permitted to be worn during testing, hoods must remain down while on school premises.
Pants and Shorts
- Pants and shorts must be no shorter than two (2) inches above the knee (measured from the top of the knee).
- Pants, slacks, and shorts (khaki, navy, or black); undergarments must remain fully covered.
Personal Appearance
- Visible body piercings are not permitted.
- Clothing with holes, rips, tears, or cut-off edges is not permitted.
- Hair must be neat, kept out of the face, and above the collar.
- Hair colors are to be natural, styles that are deemed distracting to the educational environment may be addressed by the administration. Parents or guardians will be asked to correct the issue within one week of notification.
Outerwear
- Anoraks, fleece pullovers, light jackets, sweatshirts, and cardigan sweaters may be worn.
Males
Pants/shorts
- Must be worn may not be excessively baggy, undergarments must remain fully covered.
Hair
- Refer to General Dress Code above.
- Students must be clean-shaven.
Piercings
- Males may not wear earrings on school premises, school functions (games, proms, etc.)
Females
Shirts/Tops/Dresses
- Tank tops, halter tops, racerback styles, off-the-shoulder tops, exposed backs, thin straps, and low-cut necklines are not permitted
- All undergarments must remain covered, and the midriff may not be exposed.
- Students may wear their shirts outside their pants/skirts only if the shirt has side slits. If not girls must tuck in their shirts.
Pants/Shorts/Skirts/Dresses
- Must be worn in an appropriate manner.
- Slips and/or appropriate undergarments must be worn with all dresses or skirts.
- May not be excessively tight.
- May not be shorter than two (2) inches above the knee and the slit of the skirt or dress may not extend above the fingertip length. (must be appropriate in appearance)
Hair
- Should be kept neatly trimmed and combed & out of face.
