The North Walterboro Christian Academy library provides students with a wide variety of age-appropriate books that encourage a lifelong love of reading. We believe that allowing students to select books based on their interests fosters reading enjoyment, strengthens comprehension, and promotes continued academic growth.
While recreational reading is encouraged, students are also challenged to expand their knowledge through research. Book reports and research projects help students develop critical thinking, information literacy, and writing skills while exploring subjects they may not have encountered otherwise. Reading opens the door to new ideas, cultures, and opportunities for learning.
As a Christian school, we recognize that literacy is essential to understanding God's Word. The greatest story ever told—the Gospel of Jesus Christ—has been faithfully passed from generation to generation through the written Word of God. In addition to fiction and nonfiction resources, our library includes a carefully selected collection of Christian books and biblical resources designed to encourage students in their faith and spiritual growth.
Our library also provides instruction in library and research skills, equipping students to locate, evaluate, and responsibly use information for academic success. Every resource is carefully reviewed to ensure it is age-appropriate and aligns with the biblical values, beliefs, and educational standards of North Walterboro Christian Academy.
